Based in the near future, TimeShift tells the story of renowned test pilot Colonel Michael Swift, who has been asked by the US Government to test two of the most significant inventions of the century - a time-control device called the Quantum Suit and a time machine called the Chronomicon. During the experiment Swift is briefly sent back in time to 1911 to plant an experimental probe. Upon his return to the present, the world has changed beyond all recognition, and his knowledge of this timeshift has made him an enemy of the state. Swift is now both on the run and on a mission to set time straight once again.

After downloading and playing the demo I thought this could could have promise and take us away from what is the usual FPS that we see on the shelves of your local game stockist. So I thought I would rent the game and give it a go. Firstly lets take away the timeshifting abilities and looks at as a FPS. Oh how disappointing, sotry is not too hot. weapons are pretty poor. And when you shot someone in the head you expect them to drop not have to be shot multiple times in the head. That said the graphics are good and it nice to be able to shoot away some of the walls is a nice touch but this is few and far between. The AI isn't that intelligent which makes for an interesting game to play through. But once you have added the ability to timeshift it completely changes the game and then makes it that bit more playable. You have the ability to slow down, stop or rewind time. To take an example you could run into a room filled with enemies, so you pause time run up to the first steal his gun and then shoot all of them before time restarts. And when it does they all just drop to the ground in the heap. It has certainly added a new twist to the FPS genre but I have to say as good a twist as it was I would be very unlikely to pick it up again after I had completed the game. Was very glad I rented it instead of spending 40 shiny new coins on it. Worth playing but has no lasting gameplay.
Slightly better than average shooter. Nothing special, however worth a blast. You will complete single player game in a few days.
Very good game a bit like Halo and FEAR with a little bit of Far Cry. I am about half way through it and really enjoying it recommend.
Very good but I didn't finsh it.It's too hard even on NORMAL!!!
Abit disapointed to be honest.. was expecting alot more from the game.. story is kinda short and what a rubbish Story line anyway! lol, The mulitplayer online is pretty good if you can find enough people to play online with.. Rent this game do not buy it unless your into your shooting Games
