SKATE's unique control scheme captures the true feel of skating versus the typical button mashing gameplay of past skating games. Featuring physics-driven animations, gamers will have a unique gaming experience every time they pick up the controller since no two tricks will ever be the same.

This is a brilliant game to play if, like me, your into skating. When you first play it true skating fans will see a huge difference in the game compared to other skating games like Tony Hawks. Bottom line its more realistic, the tricks you do look better and the control scheme is spot on for the different types of tricks you want to perform. Career mode is awesome and puts you into the shoes of an am skater trying to go pro having to do all the things an ameteur would need to do to get noticed e.g finding sponsors, doing photos for magazine covers and also video footage. This is where the game really hit top notch for me, the ability to edit out the tricks you do and upload them to EA and show them to friends. I found the multiplayer aspect of the game even more enjoyable especially being able to play S.K.A.T.E and also having freeskate sessions with friends. I think the only bad point this game had was the long strain of having to skateboard from one side of town to the other to start a new goal, there is a train system in the game but the map guide it gives you can be a little confusing. I actually had more fun playing this just skating everywhere and accepting challenges whenever one came by. All in all the original skate game is definitely better than the 2nd there just seems to be some kind of chemistry the way the game is set out, adding to much to it like being able to move things about on the 2nd skate game just gets to complicated and boring. I can only hope Skate 3 will be something special like this game and a definite improvement to the 2nd.
I love the fresh new control system, but it's extremely frustrating. I found I had to repeat the same area over and over again just to land the required tricks
