New International Track & Field exploits the dual screen capabilities of the DS to its fullest. Speed and stamina events require the player to repeatedly slide the DS Stylus across the power bar to quicken. Additional taps of the action button at key points will bring in jumps or set the angle of throws. Events like cycling require a constant circular motion to be drawn to keep movement and speed up to its highest. Shouting into the microphone can also boost characters at key points.
With a variety of gameplay modes for both single and multiple players, there is plenty to keep users entertained from the moment they load it up. Practice single events, leap straight into the career mode or take on up to four friends via the three multiplayer options and you've got a game that will last for months.
Hidden characters from classic Konami games can be unlocked, six of these also come with their own Character Challenge, a reworking of one of the existing events to fit the more traditional surroundings of that individual.
