Set in the shattered subway of a post apocalyptic Moscow, Metro 2033 is a story of intensive underground survival where the fate of mankind rests in your hands.
In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth's surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age.

You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised Underground. not bad, quite enjoyable, very atmospheric, baddies a bit generic.
i liked this game so much that i finished 2 times on normal difficulty and go both endings to it. but one thing i didnt get was the trading system
Really enjoyed the premise of this, with atmospheric tunnels and interesting characters. The biggest problem was the combat mechanics, stealth was a joke and unless you are a pro at fps you will really struggle. Sent it back without finishing it.

Great game. Can be quite jumpy at times especially when played at night lol. A good addition to the fps range. A shame it was promoted better.
Very enjoyable, generally underrated in my opinion.
Good, tense shooter, dripping with oppressive atmosphere. Make sure you're countering the grim, bleak outlook of this game with something cartoon-y. A LEGO game, or perhaps a marathon of Pixar films. The actual shooting can be a little sketchy, especially when enemies are rushing in to close quarters. Also, the world created in the Metro systems of Russia is fantastic, but the player is never really allowed to interact with it so much as view it from an uncomfortably close vantage point. Overall, a good story, told well. Though visually stunning in many ways, the game is only competent in too many other facets.
Superbly atmospheric survival horror FPS. This game got mediocre reviews from all magazines which were totally unjust and harsh. The game has many fantastic features (a lot innovative), has beautiful graphics and performed without a hiccup. The sound and music score are great too. The only thing that may put some people off is the game is rock hard. I still recommend it be played through on hard though otherwise some of the unique features won't really come into play. This is a MUST rent game 5 star.
Pretty average game, nothing special. Solid combat mechanics that's let down by a very poor story and bad voice acting in english (It's better in russian but the majority of gamers won't understand that. It's very linear, all very much move from point A to point B with no real set pieces as such and poor enemy AI. Worth a play through if you're looking for something to pass the time and some mindless fun, one to avoid if you're looking for something deep, challenging and engrossing.
