Left 4 Dead 2 is the sequel to the best-selling and critically-acclaimed co-operative multiplayer smash from Valve. The title adds melee combat to the award-winning L4D style of play, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more. The setting is at roughly the same time as the original - just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. Players assume the role of 4 new "Survivors," each with their own personality and new dialog. Addictive! Hooked on survival mode..
I can see why people enjoyed this so much. I was not one of them. It's ok, played with a friend, its a bit of a laugh, but it had little substance. Back to COD for multiplayer awesome.
Bit repetitive.
Left 4 Dead 2 is the second in the popular left for dead series. The first was very popular, so lets see how the second matched up. As usual we start with graphics and sound. Graphically the game is good. The zombies look good and you don't get the case where all the zombies look the same as the last. The special infected are well done and look good. The sound is also done well. You hear zombies a good distance before you see them. The special infected each have their own distinctive sound, which makes identifying which one is close, an easy task. All weapons sound correct and some have an amusing sound when hitting zombies. Ok now on to game play. Well we see the return of the special infected from the first series, Boomer, Hunter, Smoker, Witch and Tank, however a few more have been added for this game. Spitter (which spits a pool of acid at you that burns under your feet), Jockey (which is probably one of the most annoying you will meet. It jumps on your head and rides you while hitting and biting your head) and finally the charger which is a smaller version of the tank but runs at massive speed and grabs someone then pounds them on the floor over and over. These new special infected are a good addition and do fit in nicely with the ones from the first game. Finally the online play. In my honest opinion I would suggest you play this with friends, if you do, the online play will be a great time. If you play with strangers, this can be the games main drawback. There is a voting system where people can be voted out of the game by the other members. So if you aren't living up to others lofty standards you may find yourself being voted out of a game for nothing. Give some people power and it will be abused. So go on with friends and you will enjoy many hours of fun. In all I would say Left for Dead 2 is a very good follow on from the first and will bring lots of enjoyment for you and your friends. Just be weary of online play with strangers. This game can be enjoyed by both people who are veterans of gaming and by new players. I will be scoring this an 85.

Easily one of the best co-op games of all time. Lots of fun to play through or just dip in and out of. Takes a while to get used to the fast pace but once you do it's very addictive. If you haven't played it yet you're in for a treat!
Fantastic to play online and with friends, good split screen action. More enemies, more weapons, more pickups and some pretty big levels. More hours of gameplay than the original, although this is essentially more of the same. If you like the original you will not be disappointed.
Left 4 Dead 2, the sequel to Left 4 Dead, offers a similar experience to it's original. It's fun, addictive and a great laugh with your mates. Unfortunately, it's similarity to it's original is it's downfall. The game didn't really offer anything new, the release of this sequel was too soon. However, this game is still great and I advise renting it.
great game, didnt like the levels as much as the first one but there are lots of fun achievments and details.
