Alma returns in F.E.A.R. 3 but this time her sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel introduce divergent co-op, giving players distinctly different abilities affecting their own play as well as the experience of their co-op partner. Gamers participate in single player or co-op modes as Point Man, a genetically enhanced super soldier originally introduced in F.E.A.R., or they can play cooperatively as his conniving brother Paxton Fettel, whose incredible telekinetic power has given him life beyond the grave. The game is developed by Day 1 Studios, developer of the original F.E.A.R. console games in collaboration with Monolith Studios.
To further ensure extreme terror in F.E.A.R. 3, legendary horror director John Carpenter (Halloween, Village of the Damned) and critically acclaimed horror comic and script writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) have provided consultation to enhance several of the games frightening aspects. Steve Niles co-wrote the game script with the development team and John Carpenter provided his expertise in crafting the in-game cinematics.

Decent shooter but any scares the series had are long gone.
Sometimes less is more, this game is not scary in the slightest and the FPS action while competent is nothing to shout about. Might still be worth a rent if you liked the first 2 games, but don't expect any of those jump out of your skin moments that you had in the 1st game.
great game best one out of all the fear games
A good game (from the few levels I played, reasons to follow) but ruined for me by some incredibly frustrating sections with no hints as to how to get past at all. May well be an all round good game, but personally I found sections of normal difficulty just too difficult to get round. After dying for the 30th time on a part where you are attacked by first a tough, enemy-spawning baddie then immediately after by a man in an impossible to kill suit of power-armour I decided to give in and allow my blood pressure to drop. Listen up game developers: NORMAL difficulty should mean for players who have a decent amount of experience, but who aren't insane FPS-ninjas. It shouldn't be zero-deaths easy for the first four levels and then suddenly just pitch in an uncompleteably hard section for the hell of it. That's BAD game design. What I did play through I enjoyed, although the story seem badly explained and disjointed. The cover system is well implemented and the guns feel chunky and "real", although the game suffers in single player with not having your brother with you. Feel free to make up your own mind on this one, I didn't play enough to really warrant my opinion being particularly valid, but if you're the kind of person who automatically hits normal settings, but is fairly average in online play then you might find it very frustrating.
Great story, parts make you jump but thought story was too short. I was expecting longer but definitely a good game!
