Dante's Inferno will take gamers to the western world's most definitive view of the afterlife as created in the 13th Century by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri in part one of his epic classic, "The Divine Comedy." Dante's Inferno tells an adapted story that focuses on delivering a blockbuster third-person action game experience while bringing Alighieri's depiction of Hell to the medium.
Players assume the role of Dante, who descends into Hell after returning home to find his beloved Beatrice murdered, with Lucifer seducing her soul into the underworld. Dante sets out on a rescue mission to save Beatrice, but he soon realises he is also in Hell to face his own demons and ultimately to redeem himself. Players will take Dante through nine unique circles of Hell as mapped out and described by Alighieri: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery.

Great game to start with but got a bit to familiar nearer the end. But some upgrading and stuff which helps the experience. Took me 9 and half hours to complete and I didn't feel the need to play it again so a great rental game. Given 80 and was still very enjoyable.
It's a 3D version of one of those irritating platform games where you need to time your button pushes for jumps to perfection otherwise you fall to your doom. I guess the genre of the game requires you not to be able to move the camera around, but when you know there are collectibles to be found it's annoying not to be able to look around for them.... you have to walk around parts of the level you wouldn't normally go to if following the story in the hope that the camera angle will change to reveal the collectible. First game in a long time which almost made me throw the controller at the wall. I decided just to switch off and send the game back. I'd give the game 40/100. 30 for graphics and sound, gameplay makes up the other 10 points. Would not recommend this game to a friend.
Dante's Inferno was an awesome game, havent played such a good hack n slash game b4, the landscaping was brilliant, enemys even better and graphics good aswell... cant wait for the next one!!! A MUST RENT
Probably the best cut scene graphics on the 360 in my opinion. Nice little game, but nothing more then a button basher.
nice game, love the cross attack
Excellent, slash and bash! Story line not too bad, gets a bit repetitive after a few hours...
Very strong imagery, but tbh it's one of the best games I've played so far in 2010. It definitely deserved a higher average score than 5.9 on other sites. Best judge it for yourself :)
Dante's Inferno is a great game which hits all the right notes, and will keep you gripped until the end. The story is solid and the boss battles are manageable. The fighting is more hack-n-slash on easier difficulties, but the counter/block and combo system comes in to it's own on the higher difficulty setting, where simple hack-n-slash will get you killed in an instant. Cut-scene graphics are astonishing in places, though the game does look slightly unpolished in some areas, and the graphics slip a little in places.
Overall, the game will keep you hooked, and after an hour of slashing away at increasingly harder and more diverse hordes of enemies, you will probably think "going through just one more circle of hell won't hurt..."
For achievement hunters, the game can be completed in about 5 hours on the easiest setting (with collectibles guide), with a horde mode taking about 45mins and half a second play through needed, an easy 1000G in under 10hours.
Really enjoyable hack and slasher, similar to God of War.
Fantastic game, better than God of War on PS. Great story and very twisted in parts. Can be quite tough in places but fun enough to carry on with it.
