Delivering an epic campaign, Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360 will see players once again wielding the latest firepower in both singleplayer and multiplayer modes set in the mayhem of Modern Warfare.
The call of duty needs answering once again, as the blockbusting first person shooter series returns to the modern day. A direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you now play new character Sgt Gary "Roach" Sanderson. Your commander is "Soap" from the first game as you join a multinational anti-terrorist squad out to stop Russian ultra nationalists.
Watch your squad grow from inexperienced rookies to veteran warriors
A snowmobile race is just one of the new vehicle sections
Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4
You'll journey all around the world in the fight against terrorism
Many of the details on the game are still sketchy but it promises to feature an even more varied series of locales than the ever before, including a snowbound enemy camp that starts with a daredevil mountain climb across the ice before a stealthy infiltration goes awry and you have to run for your life by commandeering a snowmobile.
But that's just the single player mode - the multiplayer is expected to be even more ground-breaking than before, with new co-op options and even more rewards and perks for competitive play.

Had this game for about a year, only returning it because the new COD is coming out!!
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is the latest in a very successful series of first person shooters. I will assume that you know the call of duty game and move straight onto my thoughts of this game. Graphically Call of Duty has always been really advanced with graphics both in character models and weapon design. The sounds of all weapons are perfectly realistic. All the sounds of the map you are on right up to the sound of leaves brushing against your characters clothing are all totally accurate. Now we move onto playability and what the game offers. The main positive feature of this game is the Special ops co-op missions you can do solo or with a friend. You do challenge missions to collect 1, 2 or 3 stars. Each ranging in greater difficulty. This mode of play is very enjoyable solo but really comes into it's own with a friend helping you. The main campaign mission is the first bad feature of the game, simply because it is too small.I am not a serious FPS gamer yet it took me less than 2 days to finish it and once finished there is no real replay value. The main focus of this game as in the other titles in this series is focused towards online play and this is where the games biggest flaw is. The character matching is awful so expect to start this game with a basic machine gun at level 1 and be up against level 70 players with heartbeat sensors and thermal scopes. You will die an enormous amount of time before you actually get any worthwhile add ons to your weapons of unlock anything good. Also don't expect any of the old 15 or 20 a side maps for total mayhem as the limit in just about all the rooms open to you are for between 8 to 12 players. This means playing a sniper is pointless since you play on big maps so it is easy for the enemy to work themselves around the back of your men to get to you. Death due to knives in your back with run into hundreds for this problem alone. Also you will need to be happy grinding for rewards. They don't come easy on this game and it makes you work hard for everything. Not everyone wants to be or has time to be grinding for hours to earn a better gun or a better scope. If you can't dedicate hours every day to this game then it isn't for you. On the whole I enjoyed the Special ops missions and the graphics and sound were as good as they always are. But the single player campaign was a joke and the online play is way too annoying and grinding for any casual game to enjoy this game.
nothing more needs to be said about this game... one thing i will say is thank god i didnt buy it as i dont play online much and i think this is too short to be considered a good offline game.
Only rented for the multiplayer and really enjoyed playing it.
Campaign action packed but heavily scripted and more of the same from the 1st game. Special Ops is a good laugh in 2 player especially a couple of levels where one of you gives aerial support in a helicopter or gunship. I found trying to play most of the levels on hardest to earn 3 stars is too hard. Not on Live so can't comment on online component.
Great game, online is awesome, campaing was legendary, would recommend ANYONE to get it :)
Excellent FPS.
Only played the campaign and have to say its amazing but very short. Polished it off in 5 hours, didn't even have time to feel sad that I was almost finished one of the greatest games I've ever played. Multiplayer is awesome.
Unequaled. The best shooter narrative experience I have yet seen, barring the expansive storyline of Half Life - this title sets the bar very high. Superb, in every way, save for the lackluster multiplayer. Now I am compelled to say I am Oscar Mike whenever I pop to the shops...
