Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Multiplayer in BioShock 2 provides a rich prequel experience that expands the award-winning BioShock gameplay. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject in the underwater city that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the game's toolset to survive as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

Decent, could be better!
I thought that this game was a side step on the original, however the original was amazing so a side step is still equally good. I love the recording that add that extra depth to the game, I didn't mind the linear progression as it stops you wandering around aimlessly. However the original more free roaming style suits the game better. I think the shooter mechanics are much improved in this version and the graphics looked quite sharp on the PS3, however there is no excuse for some of the really bland textures that can be found at points. The framerate although generally good also stutters a little at times. Not enough to really hurt the game and there are settings that can be adjusted to smooth out the framerate at cost of some graphics. However you wont need to do this. Took about 10 hours to complete on my playthrough and I enjoyed it from start to finish, there are also multiple endings if you wish to do a second playthrough. It doesn't appeal to me that way but may do to others. All in all a great game and definitely worth a rental
great follow up to the first game. a must for all shooter fans
