Genre: ACTION / ADVENTURE
As the fourth entry in this increasingly popular ninja franchise, Tenchu: Fatal Shadows makes accessible to newcomers the genre that the original Tenchu helped define - stealth-action. Stealth kills are easier to pull off than ever before, and now, players can hide their fallen foes to avoid raising alarms. And with the use of a new wind reed tool, even water can offer camouflage. Gameplay offers a solid mix of melee combat and tension-inducing stalking, where levels are structured to avoid the standard, frustrating trial-and-error patterns that are all too familiar in this genre. Tenchu: Fatal Shadows follows the exploits of two ninjas as they seek revenge for the slaughter of their peaceful mountain village Hagakure. Wishing to understand why her town was attacked, Rin, one of the village's survivors, enlists the aid of Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven heroine Ayame, who has been charged with keeping the peace across the land by her lord, Gouda. Using stealth to sneak quietly into enemy camps, these two warriors use their unique fighting styles to pound enemies to the ground and slit their throats.
